Earth Day Conversations:
Rewilding Ourselves and Healing with the Earth
A Conversation featuring Claire Milne and Gene Dilworth
with host Jul Bystrova
Thursday April 22nd 10am PT 1pm ET 5pm UTC
In this event honoring Earth day, we connect our deep ecological work with how we live our lives and how we heal. We will be diving into a conversation about the power and potency of nature immersion and reconnection. As we attune to natural rhythms, cycles and wisdom, we heal and inform our lives, and actively keep ourselves resourced as activists working towards a more just, protected and regenerative way of living on our beautiful planet. We will have time to practice together a connective experience of deep nourishment and inspiration and emergent discussion
Speaker Bios:
Claire Milne is living life as an inquiry into living as unconditional love and into the realms of working as a professional campaigner for global social justice for a range of NGOs, innovating ways to re-localise our food system through education and policy change as a co-founder of Transition Bristol, living and working as a facilitator at Ecodharma, an off-grid buddhist community and education centre in a remote part of the Catalunyan Pyrenees, as the former Inner Transition Coordinator for Transition Network and most recently as co-founder of Starter Culture, a new initiative centering inner-led change - and an apprentice guide with Animas Valley Institute.
Gene Dilworth is a lead guide and trainer at Animas Valley Institute, and is dedicated to the project of rewilding the human spirit as an essential dimension of being fully human in these times. By nurturing meaningful relationships with the more-than-human world and facilitating deep inquiry into the mysterious depths of one’s true nature, he supports individuals to discover, re-member and live from the center of their soul-rooted sense of belonging to the world. He is also the founder of Wild Heart Center for Nature & Psyche.
Jul Bystrova is a member of the Inner Transition Circle, Transition US Collaborative Design Council and longtime eco-health advocate, faclitator and activist. She is also the coordinator and co-founder of the Inner Resilience Network

Through our Dark Night to a New Day: Our Social and Spiritual Journey in a time of Crisis
Weds Oct. 7th 8-9:30am Pacific Time
Recording from Live Event Below
Many of us have been talking about the tools, resources and knowledge necessary to live on this Earth in a way that is more in harmony with life, but what does that really mean on a personal and interpersonal level? What are the nuts and bolts of this inner work, especially as we go through this time? In this talk, we will be discussing the importance of seeing the shadow of our extractive systems for what they are, and how we have been part of them-- and the invitation that lives within our own heart to invest in a different way of living and being. This journey is both intensely personal and yet collective--it requires a passage through our own dark night, to tend to our trauma, and a sorting through of what is false. But this is also a collective 'dark night', a passage towards potential new ways of living on the Earth. Most of all, it is a journey to love and healing. Our emerging, regenerative "social permaculture" must be built on this soil, what some call "zone zero". What are ways we can support each other and ourselves in this journey?
Presenters:Jul Bystrova, Richard Edelman and M. Rako Fabioner Co-Moderators: Jim Garrison, President, Ubiquity University, with Sabinije von Gaffke, Entrepreneur, Change Leader, Founder, Impactfullness Ventures

Caring For Your Own After Death:
Nurturing connection through home funerals and wakes
with Kaat Vander Straeten
October 19th, 2020 4-5:30pm PT
Keeping a loved one at home after they have died, taking loving care of their body, making time to grieve at your own pace, in the intimacy of your home and your community... that is a home funeral or home wake, an old tradition that we can reclaim. It is possible in most cases, legal in many places, and deeply healing for all. We will touch on practical body care, legal aspects and considerations of social and economic justice. Mostly we will share stories and catch a glimpse of a culture of connection that holds death, grief, life and love in one embrace. Though it is a different topic and the two don't always go hand in hand, we will also touch briefly on green burial.
Kaat Vander Straeten is a long-time community organizer with a Transition focus and a certified permaculture designer in MetroWest Boston, where she founded several organizations for local resilience. Her passion for helping families take cf their deceased is nourished by her love of empowering personal choice-with-responsibility, her service to a regenerative and grief-literate culture, and a concern for social justice. Kaat was trained by Peg Lorenz in after-death body care and has helped several families take care of their loved ones at home.
Kaat works with Peaceful Passage at Home, a group of home funeral guides and advocates based in eastern and central Massachusetts.
